This is a picturesque town of around 25,000 inhabitants in central Romania. It is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and historical significance. The uniquely well-preserved historic centre of Sighișoara was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. In the middle of the historic centre is the market square with many cute street café’s and restaurants. From here you can explore charming alleys and corners of the city in all directions. The town is located on the Great Kokel and is a place with a special, medieval flair. The old town of Sighișoara is best explored on foot. Parking is available in the Lower Town at Hermann Oberth Square. It is a fantastic place for a cultural excursion and an ideal stopover for travellers who want to discover Transylvania.
