Where is Sighișoara?

Sighișoara is located in central Romania, in the historic region of Transylvania, surrounded by rolling hills, dense forests, and a landscape that feels like it hasn’t changed for centuries. The town sits along the Târnava Mare River and is best known for its beautifully preserved medieval citadel, which rises above the modern lower town like something out of a storybook.

Despite its remote, fairytale atmosphere, Sighisoara is surprisingly well connected. It lies within driving distance of major Transylvanian cities such as Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, and Sibiu, making it an easy addition to any Romania itinerary.
