Passau is a city in the southeast of Germany on the border with the Czech Republic and Austria where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers flow together. The three-river city with its historic old town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bavaria and is one of the most fascinating cities on the Danube. Around 50,000 people live here and the special thing about Passau is the location of the old town, which is located on a long peninsula between the Danube and Inn and is very beautiful.
Most of the city’s attractions are located in the center and along the peninsula. One of the most famous and visible from far away is St. Stephen’s Cathedral with its white towers and blue-green domes. Another great place in Passau is the Fortress Veste Oberhaus, from which you have a perfect view of the city and can see as far as Austria. A great place that shouldn’t be missed when visiting Germany.
