Sankt Peter-Ording

Where the North Sea Meets Endless Sands♥︎

Sankt Peter-Ording… that means over ten kilometers of fine sandy beach, wide dunes, pine forest, salt marshes and lots of sea. The small town with around 4,000 inhabitants is a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein on the North Sea. The landmark here is the lighthouse in Sankt Peter-Böhl and the unique stilt houses on the approximately twelve-kilometer-long sandy beach. A bike tour along the North Sea is highly recommended, passing beautiful places and with great views from the dike.

The long sandy beach in Sankt Peter-Ording is up to two kilometers wide in places and is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, playing sports or taking long walks. In the stilt houses you will usually find beach chair rentals, lifeguards, restaurants and toilets. The center is nice to look at with small shops, good restaurants, ice cream parlors and other shops. The region around Sankt Peter-Ording is also highly recommended.
