Wroclaw is known as the city of dwarves. A truly beautiful city with a great market square filled with elegant townhouses and awesome sights. Wroclaw lies on the Oder in western Poland and is the third largest city in the country after Warsaw and Krakow. With around 640,000 inhabitants the city has been the capital of Lower Silesian Voivodeship since 1999 and was European Capital of Culture in 2016.

The best way to get to Wroclaw is by train or bus. The main train station is about 1.5 kilometers and a 15-20 minute walk from the center. The airport is about 13 kilometers from the center. Buses run from here and take about 40 minutes to and from the center.
The best time to travel is between April and September. Temperatures are usually pleasantly warm and there are only a few rainy days. The winters are cool and it can snow sometimes.
In comparison, Wroclaw is one of the cheaper cities. Prices for hotels, restaurants and entrance fees are quite good and affordable.
We recommend that you spend at least 1-2 days here and definitely one night. There is a lot to see and discover.
