The port city on the Baltic Sea impresses with its colorful houses, long hostories, beautiful streets, great restaurants and many air-flying opportunities. Gdansk is a great destination for a city trip at any time of the year. Did you know that Gdansk is the world capital of amber? The former Hanseatic city is located on the Amber Road, which stretches from the Mediterranean to the Baltic Sea coast.

The city is connected to Europe via a very well-developed airport. But you can also easily reach the city by train. In general, one has to say that traveling by train in Poland is one of the best means of transport. The port of Gdansk is the largest in all of Poland. From there are regular ferries to Scandinavia and the Baltics. A weekend is perfect for the city.

Gdansk is located around 330 kilometers from Warsaw. The train journey takes around 3.5 hours. Gdansk Airport offers good connections to other European countries and is located around 17 kilometers from the center. It is fairly easy to reach by bus or taxi.

It can be said that you can travel to Gdansk all year round. The summers can be very hot and crowded but also very beautiful and you can go swimming in the Baltic Sea.
