Gdansk is located around 330 kilometers from Warsaw. The train journey takes around 3.5 hours. Gdansk Airport offers good connections to other European countries and is located around 17 kilometers from the center. It is fairly easy to reach by bus or taxi.
It can be said that you can travel to Gdansk all year round. The summers can be very hot and crowded but also very beautiful and you can go swimming in the Baltic Sea. The unique Christmas market season begins in winter. It can also be very cold and unpleasant here. Spring and autumn (April, May, October, November) are usually still pleasantly warm and it stays light outside for longer.
Prices in Poland in general have risen sharply in recent years. This is also noticeable in Gdansk. Here you pay around 3-4€ for a beer and around 10-15€ for a meal per person.
A city that is perfect for a weekend trip. But you should spend at least one night here. Most sights of the city can be explored in one day.
