Sozopol is a small town on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is a really beautiful place, about 35 km away from the big city of Burgas. Numerous small restaurants with a wonderful view of the sea have settled on the rocky shore of the old town. Sozopol is one of the oldest cities on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast. It is a nationally known tourist resort and has been declared an open-air museum.
There are also beautiful beaches around the Sozopol region. In general you can definitely say that this region is one of the most beautiful in Bulgaria. The best way to get to Sozopol is by car or bus from Burgas. However, if you want to visit the bays and nature reserves, the car is more suitable, as many beaches are a few hundred meters from the road. Whether a short trip or a long stay, Sozopol is always worth a visit.

How to get there
The best way to get to Sozopol is via the city of Burgas, which is 35 kilometers away. Several buses leave from here every day for little money. Of course, traveling by car is also very relaxing and there are plenty of good and cheap parking options in Sozopol.
Best time to visit
The months from June to September are the best time to visit Sozopol. During this time it is dry and temperatures are warm and pleasant.
How expensive is Sozopol
A mediocre place by Bulgarian standards in terms of prices. A meal for two in a good mid-range restaurant costs around 40-60BGN (around 20-30€).
How much time to spend here
Sozopol is a good place for a day trip. But it is also a nice place where you can definitely spend more time. We did a day trip from Burgas and it was definitely enough.
