Maribor, Slovenia

Slovenia’s Wine and Cultural Hub♥︎

Maribor is located in the middle of the hilly wine region on the Drau. The pretty university town with around 100,000 inhabitants in northeast Slovenia is the country’s cultural and economic metropolis. The second largest city in Slovenia was the European Capital of Culture in 2012 and invites you to interesting sightseeing tours with its magnificent buildings and beautifully designed squares and parks.

This place is surrounded by the green forests of the Pohorje Mountains and has one of the most beautiful city parks in Slovenia. The streets in the historic city center, where everything is within walking distance, are beautiful and worth a visit. Maribor is also a good starting point for trips to the beautiful region. Did you know that Maribor is only 65 kilometers away from the Austrian city of Graz and that buses run from here every day?
