Kranjska Gora is a charming place in the Julian alps in the northwest of Slovenia. Not far from the border with Austria and Italy on the edge of the Triglav National Park. Traveling by car is one of the most convenient ways to get to Kranjska Gora, especially if you want to explore the surrounding area. There are several bus connections to Kranjska Gora, both from various cities in Slovenia and from neighboring countries. Unfortunately, there is no train connection yet.
Kranjska Gora offers a variety of opportunities all year round. In winter (December-February) the place is a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts as it is one of the most famous ski resorts in Slovenia. Summer is ideal for hiking, mountain biking and outdoor activities. Spring and autumn are a quieter time to visit Kranjska Gora. At that time you can enjoy the colorful beauty of nature without the crowds of summer or winter.
Kranjska Gora tends to be a little cheaper compared to other European alpine resorts such as the Swiss or Austrian Alps, but prices can vary depending on the season and type of accommodation. A beer in a restaurant costs around 4€.
