Izola, Slovenia

Visit a Charming Coastal Town in Slovenia♥︎

Izola is a pretty coastal town between Koper, the largest city on the Slovenian coast, and Piran, probably the most beautiful place on the Slovenian Riviera. The town has around 10,000 inhabitants and is an excellent starting point for discovering Slovenia’s coastal towns. But trips to Italy and Croatia are not far from here either. A really sweet beautiful place in Slovenia that you should visit.

This charming place also offers a number of beautiful beaches and swimming opportunities for beach vacationers. Izola has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine, as the local cuisine is largely Mediterranean due to the town’s fishing tradition. The old town is located on the former island to which the city’s name can be traced back. You can explore Izola perfectly on foot and take a relaxed stroll through the town and alleys.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Izola is probably summer (July to August), although it can get very crowded. We therefore recommend spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October), as the weather is mild, pleasant and it doesn’t rain as often. In addition, the crowds of tourists are not as high as in summer.
