Mdina, Malta

Visit Mdina, the silent city♥︎

Mdina is a former capital of Malta with just over 200 inhabitants and a picturesque medieval townscape. The town is known for its narrow streets and the palaces and churches built from the sand-colored limestone typical of Malta. Mdina is located on a foothill of the Dingli Plateau in the center of Malta and is completely surrounded by the old city walls. A city that can be easily explored on foot. Right next to the medieval town is the larger twin city of Rabat.

It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malta. In general, it is a very beautiful region with small towns and wine-growing areas. Mdina is easy to reach and has a history that goes back more than 4,000 years. Here you will also find super cute café’s and restaurants and a unique atmosphere. The main entrance to the city is the Main Gate and parts of the first season of Game of Thrones were filmed here.
