Our Mallorca favorites, shared with love♥︎
Mallorca is home for us and has a way of surprising you directly. Beyond the beaches, the island reveals quiet villages, winding mountain roads, and small moments that stay with you, slow mornings, warm light, and the simple joy of being present. It’s not about seeing everything, but about feeling the rhythm of the island and letting it guide you.

Mallorca is an absolute dream destination in Europe. Great sandy beaches with turquoise water await you when you visit one of the most beautiful places in Spain. The island is the largest of the Balearic Islands and seventh largest in the Mediterranean. Mallorca is located around 170 kilometers from mainland Spain near Barcelona. The island is characterized by mountains, sea and unique flora and fauna. Did you know that there are over 200 wonderful beaches in Mallorca? In addition to many picturesque towns and villages, the capital Palma should of course be mentioned, which impresses with great restaurants, fancy café’s and awesome bars. Beautiful streets and small alleys of the city, which has around 400,000 inhabitants, are also an absolute highlight. Mallorca is a great destination overall and is also a great starting point to explore the Balearic Islands region.

The island has over 300 days of sunshine per year.

Most people visit Mallorca between April to September. Around February is the almond blossom season. Spring and autumn are ideal for cycling, walking, mountain climbing or golf. July and August are the hottest and driest months.

The best way to get around Mallorca is renting a car or scooter. You can also get around by public transportation (Bus or a few Trains) wich is also quite cheap. Cycling and hiking is also very popular here.
From the end of January to about mid-late March, the island transforms into a delicately fragrant, picturesque sea of flowers
Although tap water is drinkable in some places on Mallorca, we would still recommend filtered or bottled water.

In Mallorca, as in most places in Europe, you tip around 10% if you were pleased with the service.
For us, Mallorca is simply the most beautiful island in Europe, also because it is our home. There are many beautiful places in Europe and Mallorca is undoubtedly one of them. It is far more than just a beach destination. It’s the quiet mornings in stone villages, the winding roads through the mountains, and the hidden calas that feel like your own little escape.
We just love it here!
The island invites you to slow down, to follow the light, and to enjoy simple moments, good food, warm evenings, and endless views. Mallorca stays with you long after you’ve left, and that’s why it will always be one of the greatest places in our opinion.
Since Mallorca is an island, it is generally only accessible by plane or ferry/boat. However, the Balearic island has excellent air and sea connections and is easily reachable from many parts of Europe, whether you’re looking for the fastest route or a more scenic journey.
Flying is the quickest and most popular option. Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is well connected to major European cities, and from there, the whole island is easily accessible. During the peak season, i.e., summer, there are even some direct flights to and from the USA.
Some of the main airlines that fly to Mallorca are:
Ryanair, Vueling Airlines, EasyJet, Eurowings, Air Europa, Iberia / Iberia Express, Jet2.com, Condor, Swiss International Air Lines, British Airways / BA CityFlyer, Lufthansa and more.
Traveling by car means driving through Spain, France or Italy and taking a ferry to the island. It’s a great option if you want flexibility and plan to explore Mallorca at your own pace. However, we would generally recommend a rental car for Mallorca.
Ferries run regularly, almost daily, from mainland Spain, mainly from Barcelona and Valencia. Arriving by sea offers a relaxed and scenic start to island life. There’s even a fast ferry from the mainland to Mallorca.
If you’re coming by car, there are also many car ferries from mainland Spain.
Major ferry companies to and from Mallorca:
Baleària, Trasmediterránea (Trasmed), Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), Corsica Ferries, Menorca Lines (Trasmapi)
As mentioned, some travelers combine train or bus, car, and ferry for a more adventurous route. Private boats and sailing trips are also an option for those already exploring the Mediterranean. You can also easily reach Mallorca by ferry from the mainland with your bicycle, as the island is very popular with road cyclists.
