From rugged mountain roads and quiet coastal corners to panoramic terraces overlooking the Tramuntana, some of our favorite moments here have started with simply stopping to enjoy the view. After exploring the island ourselves, we’ve put together 15 of the best viewpoints in Mallorca that we think are truly worth the stop.

Mallorca is full of moments that make you stop and simply look. From dramatic mountain roads and rugged cliffs to quiet coastal viewpoints, there is always another beautiful perspective waiting around the corner. Some of these places are famous, while others feel like little discoveries along the way.
Here are 15 of our favorite viewpoints in Mallorca, places we discovered, loved, and would happily visit again, whether for a sunrise, sunset, or simply an unforgettable
One of our favorite viewpoints in Mallorca is Santuari de Sant Salvador, high above Felanitx. The drive up the winding road is part of the experience, and the views get better with every turn.
We recommend coming early in the morning, grabbing a coffee and something small at the little café, and simply enjoying the view. Don’t forget to stop at the Cristo Rei monument on the way up.
Sant Salvador is also super easy to combine with a day around Santanyí and Mallorca’s east coast. After your morning up in the mountains, head towards Cala Sa Nau, Cala Mitjana or Cala Varques for a swim.

If you’re looking for one of the best viewpoints in Mallorca, the Albercutx Watchtower is hard to beat. Perched above Cap de Formentor, the views over the dramatic coastline and deep blue Mediterranean are simply incredible.
For us, this is one of the most unique viewpoint spots in Mallorca. The combination of the old watchtower, the winding mountain road and the endless views makes it feel like a proper adventure and it’s especially beautiful around sunrise or sunset, but we recommend sunrise.

Sa Foradada is one of those Mallorca viewpoints that feels a little different. The dramatic rock formation, the sea views and the winding road through the Tramuntana make this a perfect stop when exploring the west coast.
Our highlight? The restaurant and bar right by the viewpoint. If you want to eat or have a drink here, definitely make a reservation in advance, especially around sunset, as tables are limited.
You can also visit Son Marroig nearby, which we would definitely recommend adding to your stop. And if you want to make it all the way down to the sea, be prepared: the path is steep, rocky and takes a bit of time.
👉 Good to Know:
If you’re exploring the Serra de Tramuntana, the drive to Sa Calobra is an experience in itself. One of the coolest moments is Nus de Sa Corbata, the famous “Knot of the Tie” – a spectacular hairpin bend where the road literally loops over itself.
The views are insane, specially in the morning and honestly, we think the drive is half the reason to come here. Just take it slow, enjoy the road and don’t forget to stop at the viewpoints along the way.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
Perched high on Randa Mountain, Santuari de Cura is one of our favorite spots for a panoramic view of Mallorca. It’s a little quieter than some of the island’s famous viewpoints, which is exactly why we love it.
On a clear day, you can see across a huge part of the island, and the drive up is beautiful too. We drove here in the morning and would recommend it to you as well. The Santuari de Cura restaurant is also highly recommended; you can enjoy a relaxed coffee or a delicious breakfast there.
👉 Good to Know & Tips: Santuari de Cura
If there’s one place in Mallorca that feels like you’ve reached the end of the island, it’s Cap de Formentor. The winding road through the cliffs is spectacular, and then suddenly you’re standing right at the edge of the Mediterranean.
At the very end, you’ll find Far de Formentor, Mallorca’s famous lighthouse. The views are incredible, but honestly, we think the whole drive is just as beautiful as the lighthouse itself.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
If you want to see more than just the beautiful streets of Valldemossa, this hike is for you. The circular hike to Es Caragolí takes you deep into the Serra de Tramuntana, with rocky mountain paths, beautiful views and the Camí de s’Arxiduc as one of the highlights.
The best part for us is the view from up high. You can see across the Tramuntana towards Deià, Port de Sóller and the Foradada and suddenly Valldemossa feels very far away.
It’s a proper hike, though: around 12 km, 540 m elevation gain and about 4-4.5 hours. So bring good shoes, plenty of water and enough time to actually enjoy it.

Banyalbufar is one of those Mallorca villages that completely surprised us. Tucked into the Tramuntana mountains on the west coast, it’s all about steep hillsides, stone terraces, tiny streets and incredible views over the Mediterranean.
We love coming here when we want to escape the busier parts of Mallorca. There’s not a huge list of things to tick off and that’s exactly the point. Walk through the village, stop for a coffee and enjoy the view.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
If you’re exploring the northeast of Mallorca, don’t skip Capdepera Castle. Sitting high above the village, this medieval fortress gives you amazing views over the surrounding countryside and all the way towards the coast.
We love that you can combine a visit here with a day around Cala Ratjada, Cala Agulla or Cala Mesquida. Go up to the castle in the morning, wander through the old walls and then head to the beach for a swim.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
Es Barretes & *Ca’s Xorc – A Country Hideaway is one of those places we’d recommend if you’re looking for a beautiful hotel and restaurant with a view in Mallorca. Tucked into the Tramuntana above Sóller, the setting is absolutely stunning, with mountains, valley and the Mediterranean stretching out in the distance.
For us, it’s less about ticking off another attraction and more about sitting down, having something good to eat and enjoying the view. If you’re exploring Sóller and the surrounding Tramuntana, this is definitely a place worth adding to your list.
Tip: If you visit a restaurant here, you should definitely make a reservation in advance.

If you’re in Palma, Bellver Castle is one of those places we’d definitely make time for. The unique round shape is pretty cool, but for us, the 360° views over Palma, the harbor and the Mediterranean are the real highlight.
It’s also a great little escape from the city. Walk through the castle, head up to the roof and enjoy the panorama, especially towards sunset.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
The Far del Cap Gros is a lovely viewpoint around Port de Sóller. Sitting above the harbor, the lighthouse has an amazing view across Port de Sóller, the Tramuntana mountains and the Mediterranean.
It’s a much quieter alternative to some of Mallorca’s famous viewpoints, and the combination of the lighthouse, mountains and blue sea makes it a beautiful little stop.
The hike up to Castell d’Alaró is definitely one of our favorite adventures in Mallorca. The old castle ruins sit high on the mountain, and once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with an incredible view over the Tramuntana and the Mallorcan countryside.
One of the easiest ways to start the hike is to drive up towards Restaurant Es Verger, where you can park. The road up is narrow and has plenty of bends, but honestly, it’s perfectly manageable if you take it slowly.
And definitely stop for a meal at Es Verger afterwards. It’s a lovely, authentic Mallorcan restaurant, exactly the kind of place we love finding on the island.
One of our favorite little challenges in Pollença: the climb up to El Calvari. There are 365 stone steps leading all the way to the small chapel at the top, one for every day of the year.
It sounds worse than it actually is, and the climb is definitely worth it. Take your time, stop whenever you need to and enjoy the views getting better as you climb.
👉 Good to Know & Tips:
If you’re looking for a viewpoint in Mallorca that feels a little off the beaten path, Puig de sa Morisca is a great choice. Located in the Puig de sa Morisca Archaeological Park near Santa Ponça, the mountain combines beautiful views with nature and archaeological remains.
The hike to the top is relatively short but rewarding, and from above you get a beautiful panorama over Santa Ponça, the Mediterranean and the surrounding southwest coast.
