The easiest way to get there is by car. The drive from Tirana to Krujë via the SH1 takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic (so it’s best to go in the morning). The roads are well-maintained, and there are beautiful views of the Albanian countryside along the way. The last 5-10 kilometers or so become a bit more winding, narrow, and steep. There are several paid parking options near Krujë Castle and the bazaar. For those who want to be independent, a rental car offers the most flexibility.
If you don’t have a car, you can easily reach Krujë by bus or minibus. Regular services depart from Tirana Regional Bus Station. The journey takes about 40–60 minutes and is an inexpensive way to get to the city. The minibuses usually stop right at the bazaar, making it easy to explore the city center.
