Welcome to Santanyí, a small municipality and town in the southeast of Mallorca with a great combination of history, culture, nature, and beautiful beaches. Santanyí is a pretty, rural, and authentically Mallorcan town. Like the rest of the south of Mallorca, the region is known for its beautiful bays surrounded by picturesque and unspoiled nature. Here, you’ll also find excellent cuisine with great family-run restaurants and tapas bars. The town is also known for its market around the Plaza Mayor, which takes place twice a week but is very popular, especially during peak season, and unfortunately, can get quite crowded.
Santanyí is home to some of Mallorca’s most beautiful beaches, such as Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards, Es Trenc, and many more. The surrounding area is ideal for nature lovers and hikers. The Mondragó Nature Reserve is nearby and offers breathtaking scenery with hiking trails, coastal cliffs, and rich flora and fauna.

The town is located in the southeast of Mallorca and is best reached by car or bus. Santanyí is about 50 kilometers from Palma, which takes about 50 minutes by car. By bus, you’ll be there in just over an hour.
The months of June and August are the most popular and also the busiest. Therefore, you should visit Santanyí during the off-season, when temperatures are pleasant and it’s less crowded.

It’s a super cute place, with plenty of good accommodations for exploring the beautiful surroundings. You can easily spend one or two nights here. A morning is definitely enough for a quick visit, ideally during the market.
