Rovinj is a magical place at the Adriatic coast in western Croatia on the Istrian peninsula. One of the absolute highlights of the country. Romantic old town, vibrant waterfront, crystal clear water, good food and much more awaits you in Rovinj. Let yourself be enchanted by the unique flair especially in the evening hours when the sun goes down and enjoy the Italian charm of the city.
The city is located between Pula and Poreč and is one of the most popular and famous places in Croatia. Rovinj was originally a separate island that was connected to the mainland in 1763. Today you stroll across a beautiful headland whose old town extends high up onto a hill. Rovinj is the perfect holiday destination if you want to let yourself go as you please. The city has something to offer for everyone.

Rovinj
How to get there
The best way to get here is by car or bus. You can also fly to Pula and from there take a rental car, taxi or bus to Rovinj. There are also buses from Zagreb which are quite cheap and run daily.
Best time to visit
From May to September the temperatures are warm and you can go swimming and enjoy the flair of the city. However, it’s also the time when most tourists are here, and it can get very crowded. Furthermore, the months of July and August can be very hot (over 35 degrees Celsius).
How expensive is Rovinj
It is a very touristy place in Croatia and the prices are accordingly a bit higher here. Good restaurants in the centre and along the harbour in particular cost a bit more. A scoop of ice cream costs an average of 2€ here.
How much time to spend here
A truly wonderful place. We spent one night just outside the city. That’s why we would recommend you to spend at least a whole day here. Rovinj is located between Pula and Porec and is therefore a good starting point for exploring beautiful Istria.
