Lisse is a village of flower bulb growers. It’s is a city southwest of Amsterdam, not far from Haarlem, Leiden and The Hague. From the end of March to mid-May, countless tulips of all colors bloom in huge fields. One of the most popular attractions in the region is the Keukenhof, which is a floral paradise at this time of the year and countless people flock to these places every year.
But there is also much more to discover in the community of 22,000 residents. Among other things, a pretty cute city center, church, museum and many excursion destinations. The nearest train station is Sassenheim which takes around 20 minutes by bus to the center or you can take the bus directly from Amsterdam to Lisse which takes around 50 minutes. When you arrive in Lisse, the best way to get around is definitely by bike or on foot.
